After the Holidays, you might be in need some comedy in your life. Ride Along is set to release January 17, 2014 in theaters across the US. Starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, if you haven’t seen the trailer, you’re missing out.
Hart’s character, Ben, is a security guard with a quirky twist. Ben was most likely voted Class Clown when he was in school because he’s that fast talking, one liner, funny guy. The problem for Ben is his girlfriend’s brother, James, played by Ice Cube. James is a cop and has decided that if Ben really wants to marry his sister, Angela, played by Tika Sumpter, Ben is going to have to survive a 24 hour ride along.
Ride Along is set in Atlanta where all of the filming took place. Of course, lots of hijinks take place during the ride, but it can be assumed that Ben makes it out alive and marries Angela in the end.
The movie is rated PG-13 for some violence, strong language and sexual content and even though the movie hasn’t released yet, there’s already some trivia available. Originally, the movie was set to start to Dwayne Johnson as the cop and Ryan Reynolds as the one joining the ride along. Chances are still very good that Ice Cube and Hart will make this version of the movie one to watch.
