The Gunman is a thriller based on the Jean-Patrick Manchette novel The Prone Gunman. This movie was written by Don MacPherson and Pete Travis and directed by Pierre Morel. This action-packed film is set to be released in March of 2015.
Sean Penn stars as Martin Terrier, an international operative who has grown tired of the dangers of his job and the vast amounts of time that he must spend away from the woman he loves. Unfortunately, someone who has spent so much of his life in such a dangerous line of work can’t simply decide to walk away one day. It’s going to take a little more than that for him to break free of this life.
Instead of going home and settling down, he finds himself forced to go on the run. Every country he visits holds a new danger for him as he makes his way across Europe, hoping that he will eventually be able to escape the threat that pursues him so doggedly. Most of all, he hopes that his true love will not come to harm as a result of him.
In addition to Penn, this movie stars the menacing Oscar winner Javier Bardem, as well as Idris Elba, Ray Winstone, Jasmine Trinca, Peter Franzen and Mark Rylance. The trailer to the film features the Gil Scott Heron song Me and the Devil, which is available on iTunes. The Gunman is produced by Anton Capital Entertainment, Canal+, Prone Gunman Pictures, Nostromo Pictures, StudioCanal, Silver Pictures and TF1 Films Production. It was filmed in Barcelona and two locations in London.
